Snow Sports Finishes Difficult Season Down

Washington, DC (May 16, 2012) -- Today, SnowSports Industries America (SIA) and The Leisure Trends Group released the most recent RetailTRAK™ numbers for March 2012, collected from the Point of Sale systems of more than 1,200 snow sports retailers. The snow sports market brought in $3.4B during the 2011/2012 season, $135M less than last season.

SIA Announces Sold-Out Booth Space for 2013 Snow Show

San Antonio, TX (May 9, 2012) -- Earlier today, SnowSports Industries America (SIA) announced to their Board of Directors the 2013 SIA Snow Show (Jan 31-Feb 3, 2013) had officially reached “sold-out” status for exhibitor booth space at the Colorado Convention Center. The announcement came during SIA’s annual spring Board of Directors meeting, being held this week in-conjunction with the NSAA (National Ski Areas Association) National Convention & Trade Show in San Antonio, Texas. Although Snow Show exhibitor booth space is currently sold-out, SIA will maintain a waiting list for interested companies.

Snow Sports Market Stayed Down in February

Washington, DC (April 10, 2012) -- SnowSports Industries America (SIA) and The Leisure Trends Group released the most recent RetailTRAK™ numbers for February 2012, collected from the Point of Sale systems of more than 1,200 snow sports retailers. Overall, snow sports retail sales are down 12% in units sold and down 4% in dollars sold, totaling $3.2B through the end of February. Equipment and accessories sales tumbled as snow conditions remained less than ideal throughout every region except for the Northwest. In fact, the lack of skiers and riders at resorts was apparent in the 30% decrease in rentals at retail shops.

SIA Members Light up the Runway at Aspen Fashion Week

Washington, DC (March 19, 2012) -- Last week, SnowSports Industries America (SIA) Members Dale of Norway, FERA, Helly Hansen, Killy, Krimson Klover, Obermeyer and SKEA lit up Aspen Fashion Week’s outdoor Snowstage with their 2012.13 lines in SIA’s Snow Collections runway show. Bright pop colors, shimmering metallics and beautiful details were apparent, but also technical fabrics and designs that perform in the most demanding winter conditions.

SIA Shares Fashion Cliff Notes for Next Season
