HOW CAN I USE tHEM?

Cross-Industry RetailTRAK ™ Topline Reports give SIA Members a competitive edge, whether you’re a supplier trying to design products with the attributes customers desire most, a Rep keeping track of the velocity of sales in a particular category, or a retailer looking for the hottest selling product categories in trail running shoes, freestyle snowboards, climbing harnesses, or another of hundreds of detailed categories.

Subscribers will be able to answer questions like:

  • In the categories of business where I compete, where do I rank?
  • What is my market share? What are the overall retail sales trends for my products over the past four seasons?
  • Am I the dominating brand? If not, which brand is the top seller and by how many units?
  • How many dollars?
  • How do brands stack up by price point?
  • Where am I? Where are the other brands?
  • How many models and styles does each of my competitors offer, and how many am I offering by price?
  • What is my average selling price by each price segment? Am I the highest or lowest price or in the middle? Do I have room to change (i.e. Would I gain share by lowering my price or increase profits by raising my price?)

SIA Supplier members can use this information to determine their competitive positions, conduct price point analyses, analyze trends by brand/product, analyze retail margins and inventory positions and much more. The data is gathered by accessing actual point-of-sale transactions from a geographically balanced national sample of over 1,000 independent specialty and sporting goods chain retail storefronts.
