Sales by State

SIA presents Sales by State data in three separate tables including Sales by State (Total Dollars), Sales by State Per Capita, and Sales by Region. The data contained in these tables shows state by state and national sales patterns of snow sports equipment, apparel and accessories. Each table represents a different view of aggregated data gathered for the SIA Retail Audit between August and March every year. Population data from the 2006 U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates by State was used to calculate sales per capita for each state. States are grouped into nine different regions for Sales by Region data. Each table contains Alpine equipment and apparel categories, snowboard equipment and apparel categories, and accessories category.
