There are many ingredients to a great story of success; a great team of passionate individuals, hard work, and good ideas, amongst other. No wonder why Axis Boardshop, with many locations in the great Laurentian region has been so successful in such a short period of time. In a matter of a few years, they managed to open 4 stores, with another one on the way.
Their complete collection of Axis brand name clothing and accessories is exploding; they even managed to help some of the best athletes in the world on their snowboard and freeski team! But they never stopped focusing on the most important thing; customer service. This great success meant a lot of hard work, and things weren’t always easy.
When the first store opened in the fall of 2002, Axis founders and passionate snowboarders Scott Reeves, Philippe Chouinard and Alex Giroux were looking for a new challenge in their life. Being in the industry for a few years employed by another boardshop, they had the knowledge but felt they could not use it at their full potential. Axis was born. The beginning was tough, local competition was not easy but with their implication in events, support from the locals kids and riders, and a lot of determination, it just kept on growing bigger and bigger every single month.
In a very short period of time, Axis was everywhere. From Whistler, BC, to Montreal, QC, chances are you have seen a sticker or a piece of Axis clothing somewhere! In fact, the Axis brand remains in the top 3 best selling brand in their store! With their huge selection of Snowboarding, Freeskiing and Skateboarding hardgoods, as well as clothing and accessories, rarely does a customer get out of the store empty handed. Axis carries the greatest and most sought after companies out there.
Since 2004, Dan Mavrey, a professional Wakeboard Athlete has joined the team and opened the Mont-Tremblant location. Axis also has a seasonal flagship store at Mont-Avila, home of Quebec’s best snowpark. Lately, snowboard veteran Hugues Beauchamp and partner Eric Liboiron have opened Axis 4th location in Blainville, just outside of Montreal. Axis’ 5th store is scheduled to open this coming March in Laval with a stunning 6500 square feet! The original Axis in St-Sauveur has also moved from their first location on Main Street to a brand new 10,000 square foot location right at the village entrance!
Chances are you will experience one of their stores very soon!
