Brad Sellew (Salomon)
Award NE

Brad started skiing at Powder Ridge in Middlefield, CT at age 15. He then went onto Franklin Pierce College where he was a four event skier and captain of the ski team for 3 years.

After college graduation Brad’s best friend, Bob Maron purchased a Volkswagen bus in which they drove thru Central and South America for the ski adventure of a life time _ destination: Portillo Chile. Brad and Bob were on a tight schedule as jobs awaited. Bob taught in the ski school and Brad worked for the legendary Henry Purcell as a member of the Portillo ski patrol.

Upon returning to the States in the Fall, Brad was hired by Paul VonMaffei, owner of Action Sports as a technician and ski salesman at his Powder Ridge shop. He later became the shop manager. These were great years for Brad. He spent October to March in ski retail and the Spring and Summer months delivering boats to and from Florida.

Brad’s name was then given to Salomon Sales Rep, Jay Moreau in 1979. Salomon had a job opening as a promotional rep for the North with the open territory from Florida to Canada. Brad’s work as Salomon’s Promotional Rep began in 1979 and later he helped launched the SNS system in North America in 1981. Brad also worked as a Salomon Nordic sales rep in the Midwest.

Brad is currently the Salomon Alpine and Nordic sales rep in western New England.
