When I was a kid, all I wanted was to be in the snow. My brothers and I would walk miles with our sleds in hand to the closest hill. It wasn’t until I was 12 years old that I rode my first snowboard. I fell in love with it instantly and the next year my Mom bought me one for Christmas. From then on, I would spend 100+ days a year at my local resort aka my second home in Michigan, Nub’s Nob.
After years of snowboarding with friends, traveling, and filming, I met the Rome rep at the time, Pete Harvieux, when I was 17 at an event at Nub’s Nob. A couple years later he put me on his Midwest Rome team as a rider for him, supporting Rome as well as a local skate and snowboard shop called Ride45. At the same time, I also started working retail at that shop. After a while, I would help Pete out with events, trade shows, etc. Over time it started to become a more permanent gig as his sub-rep.
Pete took me under his wing and taught me everything he knew about what it means to be a rep. It’s really nice to work for a friend that is so passionate and works his ass off. A few years ago, Pete gave me a huge opportunity and decided to pass Rome off to me to be the lead sales rep for the Midwest (he continues to rep his other brands and also started his own snowboard brand, The Interior Plain Project).
Now I’m starting my 4th year repping for Rome Snowboards and Proof Eyewear on both sides of the lake in the Midwest. I couldn’t be happier with the shops I get to work with on a daily basis as well as the brands I work for. The Midwest is a super passionate territory from the shop floors to the hills, and it’s great to meet all the other great humans that share the same feelings for snowboarding as I do.
This award means a lot to me, and I appreciate all of the shops for going out of their way to vote! The thing I enjoy most is riding with friends, talking about snowboards all day, and being able to call that “work”! Thanks! Cheers to another year!”
