Ryan Patey

My name is Ryan Patey, aka Ry Guy. I was born in Victoria BC and grew up in the Okanagan valley. I first learned to ski when I was a six year old ripping up the slopes of Apex Alpine, the local hill in Penticton. Eight years later, when I was 14, I strapped into a snowboard and there was no turning back. After shredding Big White in Kelowna for 3 years and finishing high school, I made the move down to Vancouver. I first got my foot in the door when I was introduced to Paul Fraser at the Vancouver Snow Show back in ’98. I started working in the warehouse of High Output Sports Canada doing anything and everything I could do to further my knowledge in the game. After 2 years of warehouse work, helping out with snow demos for Never Summer snowboards and Flux Bindings, I got the travel bug and took off to Australia for a year!

After getting back from traveling, Murray Fraser of High Output Sports Canada took me back under his wing and I started to run a summer-long, Western Canada wakeboard demo and contest tour. We were approached by Max Jenke of Endeavor Snowboards to be his distributor for Canada, landing me the Sales Manager/Sales Rep position in 2004 with Meridian Dist Ltd (a division of High Output Sports). So we hit the ground running and here we are 5 years later. The snow lines that I rep are Endeavor Snowboards, Airhole Ninja Facemasks and (new for 2010) Vivo Headwear for BC/Alta/Sask/Man. Along with the wakeboard brands (Hyperlite/Ronix) that I rep in the summer, I stay very busy.

I always have a smile on my face when I’m working because I really enjoy the family-like relationships that I have built with my dealers over the years. I would like to thank Murray Fraser and all the other beauties out there in our industry that I have shared some great experiences with!!

That’s it, that’s all. Now let’s RIDE!!
