Joins Chris Davenport on RSN’s Daily Morning Program

Portland, ME (August 27, 2008) — RSN Resort TV has signed accomplished snowboarder and TV host Tina Dixon to cohost the winter episodes of the network’s morning program, RSN Outdoors. With a focus on lifestyle, gear and apparel, performance fundamentals, skiing and snowboarding, kids, travel, safety, and outdoor adventure alternatives, RSN Outdoors is geared toward resort visitors who want to start their day with relevant information, real-time local weather, conditions, and event information.

“Tina’s successful snowboarding background and her versatile television experience perfectly fit the vibe of RSN Outdoors,” According to Towle Tompkins, RSN’s Director of Television Operations. “We’re excited that she and Chris Davenport will be the faces of RSN’s marquee winter program.”

Tina Dixon is a champion snowboarder and accomplished television host. During her snowboarding career, Tina’s wins included four X-Games medals two of them gold. For the past several seasons she’s been the premier female announcer for ESPN’s coverage of the Winter X-Games, and last year, she added Summer X-Games host duties to her schedule. Tina made her Winter Olympics broadcasting debut at the 2006 games in Torino where she was on air for all six of NBC’s snowboarding programs.

Tina’s other television work has included sideline reporting for ESPN’s weekly college football games, hosting action sports events ranging from the Motocross World Championships to the X-Dance Awards Show, and covering surfing’s ASP Word Championship Tour for Versus.

In addition to television, Tina has been featured in numerous magazines such as Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder, Snowboard Life, and Mademoiselle.

“Tina is a big fan of RSN, and RSN has always admired Tina’ on-hill and on-camera talents, so we feel that this is a perfect fit,” noted Towle Tompkins.

Tina’s cohost, Chris Davenport, is one of the world’s most accomplished big mountain skiers. A former Alpine downhill racer, Chris made his mark in the freeskiing community when he won the 1996 World Extreme Skiing Championships. In 2000, he landed on the podium in each Freeskiing World Tour event he participated in, and concluded the season by winning his second World Championship at the 2001 Red Bull Snow Thrill. In addition to cohosting RSN Outdoors, Chris is a contributor to several ski publications, a reporter and color commentator for ESPN and ABC Sports, and has been featured in more than a dozen feature ski films, including those from Warren Miller Entertainment and Matchstick Productions. Chris is also an avid mountaineer, with ascents of summits around the globe under his belt.
