Friday – Sunday, November 7 9: The 19th Annual Navajo Rug Show & Sale. This year’s theme “The Ceremony of weaving,” will highlight weaver Elizabeth Clash, a master weaver known for her creative designs depicting ceremonial themes and her inventive use of color. A benefit fundraiser takes place on Friday night from 6 to 10 p.m. at Snow Park Lodge and will feature a rug preview and sale, live auction of donated items and packages, entertainment and hors d’oeuvres. The Rug Show and Sale continues on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. 6 p.m. Admission to the Rug Show on Friday night is $30 for adults and $10 for children under 12, and on Saturday and Sunday is $5 cash and/or $5 worth of donated canned goods per day. Sunday, November 23: Celebrate the 26th Annual Nouveau Beaujolais Festival. The Wasatch Mountain Food and Wine Society presents the 26th anniversary of the Nouveau Beaujolais Festival at Deer Valley Resort in the Silver Lake Lodge. Featured wines will include Nouveau Beaujolais served in casks and bottles with traditional Burgundian food. Saturday & Sunday, December 6 & 7: Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest. This invitational ski race involving teams of Olympic ski legends and stars from television and film will include a head-to-head Pro-Am and Celebrity Challenge. Festivities will take place at Deer Valley Resort on Birdseye ski run located mid-mountain at Silver Lake. This event will air on CBS on Sunday, December 21, 2008, at 5 p.m. EST adjacent to the NFL. Every day, beginning Saturday, December 6, conditions permitting, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Snowmobiling. Summit Meadows Adventures offers a variety of guided snowmobile tour options for individuals as well as groups.
