Washington, DC (April 2, 2013) — Three of the nearly 175 Bring a Friend Challenge (BAF) participants won Grand Prize trips to resorts around the country to be redeemed in the 2013.14 season. For their effort to sign up a newcomer for a skiing or snowboarding lesson at resorts around the United States, Brittany Comegna won a trip to Sun Valley, Ida., Mark Gempler won a trip to Park City Mountain Resort/Canyons/Deer Valley, Ut. and Eric Waters won a trip to Smugglers’ Notch, Vt.
Comegna, originally from Joppa, Md., took her boyfriend to Killington, Vt. for a snowboard lesson. Waters from Lincoln University, Penn. took his son to Big Boulder, Pa. for a ski lesson. Gempler from Keene, N.H.. took a family of five to Granite Gorge and Mt Sunapee, N.H. during the holiday season.
The prizes include lodging, lift tickets, rentals and lessons for two people. The Western trips include airfare from a major airport.
n addition to the trip winners, more than 25 registrants won product prizes from supplier sponsors including Celsius, HEAD, Rossignol, RAMP Sports, Seirus Innovation, Swany, SKI and Transworld Snowboarding magazines. A variety of additional supplier companies provided items for goodie backpacks provided by the U.S. Winter Sports Reps Association.
Challenge winners were from New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Missouri, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico and California. The majority of BAF registrants were from Pennsylvania, New York and Utah.
The resorts, associations and businesses sponsoring the prizes are partners in the Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month initiative which includes the Bring a Friend Challenge.
Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month is an industry initiative organized by state and regional ski associations, leading snow sports media outlets, rep and retailer associations, the Professional Ski Instructors of America, the American Association of Snowboard Instructors, United States Ski and Snowboard Association, SnowSports Industries America, National Ski Patrol and National Ski Areas Association.
