Hestra Ergo Grip® Active Glove honored in OUTSIDE Winter Buyer’s Guide 2015

Golden, CO (September 30, 2014) — HESTRA GLOVES has been selected to be featured in OUTSIDE’s Winter Buyer’s Guide as among the best gear for the winter sports season. The Hestra Ergo Grip® Active Glove was reviewed in the Backcountry Essentials category. The entire selection of products appears in OUTSIDE’s Winter Buyer’s Guide (on newsstands September 30).

Outside Buyer's GuideThis year, the OUTSIDE team of winter sports experts hit the leading resorts, trails, and backcountry hotspots to put all the latest skis, snowboards, bikes, winter apparel, accessories and gadgets to the test. The Winter Buyer’s Guide offers readers everything they learned from field-testing hundreds of products, making it the top resource for everyone from seasoned adventurers to those new to the slopes, whether they travel by foot, bike, snowboard, ski or even snowshoe. Reviews are organized by sport and activity, and include the ideal setting or experience level for each product, as well as tips for getting the most out of each gear pick. Only the best items on the market are featured in the guide.

“We wanted to make OUTSIDE’s Winter Buyer’s Guide better than ever for its 20th year,” said OUTSIDE Buyer’s Guide editor Sam Moulton. “The OUTSIDE gear testing team has been busy. Last winter, we put hundreds of products through the paces, wearing out jackets and shoes, overstuffing packs, and putting cameras and watches through the harshest conditions they could stand. We know we’ve delivered the best possible options to our readers with almost 300 stellar picks for the guide.”

“Hestra is thrilled to be included as an Outside Buyer’s Guide pick for another season,” said Hestra Marketing Coordinator Erin Rain. “We take so much pride in our commitment to quality and function that it’s always exciting when leaders in the industry recognize our efforts.”

Hestra’s Ergo Grip® Active glove was first introduced in 2013 as part of its Outdoor/Mountaineering collection. The technical, goatskin leather glove soon caught the attention of a larger audience and is now a part of the Alpine Pro collection in two new colorways for the upcoming 2014-15 winter season.

About HESTRA: Hestra’s first glove was designed in 1936 in Hestra, Sweden by Martin Magnusson. They were created for lumberjacks who needed warm, durable gloves for tough winter conditions. When skiers begin to visit Hestra, Magnusson realized they could also benefit from sturdy, warm leather gloves and in 1941, Hestra’s first ski glove was created. 78 years later, Hestra still makes durable warm leather gloves and the Magnusson family still operates the company in Hestra, Sweden. Today Hestra makes gloves for skiers, snowboarders, cross country skiers, juniors, racers, mountaineers, and gloves for everyday use. Learn more at
