Spyder Releases Limited Edition US Ski Team Athlete-inspired GS Race Suits
Boulder, CO (October 14, 2010) — You may not be able to race like an Olympic athlete, but you can look just as fast. In honor of Gold medal-winning Olympic and World Cup performances from US Ski Team athletes Bode Miller, Ted Ligety, Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso, Spyder is offering a limited edition production of the performance GS suits for men, women and children. Available at select retailers in mid-October, the suits were designed exclusively to reflect and represent each athlete’s individual accomplishments.
The anatomically contoured designs feature sublimated graphics of the iconic Spyder web and patriotic stars and stripes on performance fabrics that were tested in wind tunnels. Men can choose from the dark green Bode suit he wore in the last World Cup season or the Ted suit in lime green and orange, the same that Ligety wore at the Whistler Games. For women, the Julia suit is featured in light blue with pink accents, also a replica of her medal-winning Olympic attire. The new Lindsey suit is available in her signature pink, and includes an oversized white plaid graphic. Both Vonn and Miller each have custom suits to honor their 2008/2009 overall World titles plus to commemorate their Vancouver Gold medals. Adult suits retail for $525 USD while all four suits are available in kid’s sizing for $350 USD.
Additional suit features include a front stretch zipper, thumb anchor straps, grip elastic at boot top, and removable padding at the forearm, upper arm, thigh, and knees. All suits pass the International Ski Federation standards test.
The limited edition suits are available at race retailers in North America and Europe.
