Inaugural Alpine Ski Shop Golf Tournament raises over $1,000 for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund

Sterling, VA (July 29, 2010) — The inaugural Alpine Ski Shop Golf Tournament held at the 1757 Golf Club has raised over $1,000 for the juvenile diabetes research fund. The tournament held on July 13th, 2010 in Ashburn VA exceeded fund raising expectations with participation winter sports industry professionals across the Mid Atlantic and loyal Alpine customers.

Support for the tournament spanned across the Mid Atlantic snow sports industry with reps and manufacturers contributing prizes to ensure that everybody didn’t just have a great day of golf but also walked away with something to help them on the snow next year. The tournament received additional support form BJ Sager distribution providing beverages and energy drinks to all participants throughout the day.

“Several of our loyal customers have children who are afflicted with juvenile diabetes and, as a parent of two children myself, I wanted to help raise not just funds for the juvenile diabetes research fund but also find a way to raise awareness. We are thankful for all the support we received locally from BJ Sager distribution, 686, Rossignol, Stepchild, Never Summer, Burton, Under Armour, Smith, SunIce, Flux and Monster energy drinks”.

A second tournament is in the planning stages for 2011 and the Alpine Ski Shop team hopes to more than double their inaugural fundraising efforts.
