Layton, UT (February 4, 2015) — At ISPO 2015, the world’s largest sporting goods trade show, which opens in Munich on February 5th, Descente’s Mizusawa Down Jacket Storm has won a gold award in the Puffer segment of the Ski category. This extremely prestigious award is based on rigorous examination by a judging panel of 60 specialists from 13 countries on three continents, and goes to the garment deemed best in concept, design and technical features.
The Mizusawa Down Jacket is a highly technical down jacket that combines superior levels of warmth and comfort. Traditionally, down jackets did not perform well in rain or snow, and it was common for down feathers to work their way through the stitching in seams. The revolutionary new Mizusawa Down, made in Japan with the best available technology, changes all that. With no exposed stitching, no water can get in, and it can be worn comfortably even on snowy or rainy days. Heat welding is used instead of the conventional needle stitching, and where sewn seams are necessary, they are covered by seam tape, providing a hitherto unknown level of water resistance, and maximum comfort for the wearer.
All Mizusawa Down garments are hand crafted at Descente’s Mizusawa Factory in Iwate Prefecture, Japan using state of the art technology.
MIZUSAWA DOWN JACKET “STORM”
A brand new high performance model in the Mizusawa Down line. In addition to all the regular Mizusawa Down heat-welded, non-quilted, seam-taped construction, the Storm jacket also has our new StreamLine system that shows up as a design accent on the chest and hood and channels water away from pocket openings and your face to maintain optimum vision even in heavy rain. The outer fabric is 4way DERMIZAX MICRO STRETCH, and it comes with our unique Para-Hood system for maximum head comfort and HEAT NAVI technology that converts light to heat for added warmth.
INNER SURFACE TECHNOLOGY PARA-HOOD JACKET
A highly waterproof shell made of 4way stretch DERMIZAX ® 20D fabric. You can feel how comfortable the Inner Surface Technology lining is the instant you pull it on. The clever PARA-HOOD system tucks the hood away neatly and eliminates the discomfort of water pooling around your neck in bad weather.
Descente’s Inner Surface technology Para-Hood Jacket has won an award in the Urban Performance segment of the Outdoor category. This extremely prestigious award is based on rigorous examination by a judging panel of 60 specialists from 13 countries on three continents, and goes to the garment deemed best in concept, design and technicality.
The term ‘ALLTERRAIN’ conveys the ability to function in a wide variety of conditions and situations. At the very heart of the ALLTERRAIN collection is the adage ‘form follows function’, which speaks to the very essence of Descente’s approach to craftsmanship. In our design process, everything is related to functionality, technology, performance and fit.
The thinking behind the ALLTERRAIN sportswear concept opens up limitless possibilities. It only depends on who the wearer is, and how and where they use them.
