Seattle, WA (May 4, 2009) — Seattle-based K2 Snowboarding this week named Steve Metcalf Global Marketing Manager to lead all marketing and communications for the snowboard company born 22 years ago in the Pacific Northwest.
“Steve is a seasoned industry veteran that brings a wealth of diverse experience and knowledge to K2 Snowboarding”, says Jeff Mechura, Global Brand Director for K2 Sports. “He is a great fit to an extremely talented team of designers and developers on the K2 crew. We look forward to Steve making an immediate impact to help take K2 Snowboarding to the next level.”
Metcalf previously developed marketing programs as the brand director and film producer for Aspen/Snowmass, one of the world’s most recognized mountain resorts. Metcalf and his team won an Advertising Age Award in 2007 along with several web and industry marketing laurels. One of the films he produced is currently showing on the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.
Prior to Aspen, Metcalf worked for Action Sports Group in Dana Point, Calif., formerly Surfer Publications in multiple editorial positions for Powder and Snowboarder magazines. He grew up snowboarding in eastern Ontario and Quebec, Canada, before moving to the Canadian Rockies and launching his winter sports career.
