Buffalo, NY (August 18, 2010) — LEKI announced today they have inked an athlete sponsorship agreement with five-time Olympic Medalist and two-time World Champion Bode Miller to last through the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. LEKI has sponsored Miller for the last four years and they are also an official supplier to the US Ski Team.
The four-year contract guarantees Miller will train and compete exclusively with LEKI poles, gate guards and shin guards. Specifically, Miller races with LEKI’s revolutionary Trigger S grip system, the first “ski pole binding” system in the world. Trigger S is an integrated quick release security system where the connection between the grip and strap or the grip and glove is reduced to a ring shaped loop made from Dyneema, a gel-spun polyester known for its strength and use in parachute cords and marine racing. Skiers literally click in and out of the grip with one simple hand movement.
“Bode embodies the athleticism and excitement of ski racing. This partnership continues LEKI’s tradition of working with the top alpine skiers in the world, and we are proud to have Bode on the team for another four years,” said Greg Wozer, Vice President of LEKI USA.
