Lorpen Introduces T3+ Superlight Polartec Race Sock For Alpine Racers
Toronto, Canada (January 21, 2015) — Lorpen, the leading designer and manufacturer of high performance socks for outdoor and sport enthusiasts, is expanding its blended yarn technology collection with the addition of Thermocool for its 2015 fall/winter collection. By combining Thermocool, a synthetic polyester fiber, with Merino, a natural fiber, the Lorpen customer will enjoy socks that help regulate foot temperature in both warm and cold conditions, and better control moisture management. This new line of socks will be available at specialty retail stores and online in fall 2015.
The Thermocool fiber is designed to work with the body’s natural thermal capabilities through smart fiber cross-sections. This process, known as Duoregulation™ adapts to the wearer’s needs and is designed to keep feet warm when it is cold outside, and cool when it is hot outside. The Thermocool fiber is designed to provide additional evaporative surface, outstanding
moisture transport and enhanced air circulation. In addition to temperature control it also prevents post-exercise chill. When coupled with Merino, the result is an affordable sock that is warm, comfortable, and offers premium moisture management.
“Lorpen has been using blended yarn technology for more than seven years, with the constant goal of improving sock technology for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts,” said Bruce Barrows, VP of sales and marketing at Lorpen North America. “Merino is a terrific natural fiber but we all know it has its limitations. Thermocool takes a fiber like Merino and makes it better. This is a
perfect example of how Lorpen is consistently pushing the sock technology envelope by offering combinations of fibers that make outdoor enthusiasts’ feet comfortable, so they can concentrate on their outdoor pursuits.”
The new Lorpen products can be seen at the Outdoor Retailer show in January (booth #34165)
and at the SIA show in Denver (booth #1334).
The new Thermocool and Merino blended yarn technology will available in the following hiking and ski socks for fall/winter 2015:
