San Clemente, CA (May 10, 2010) — Powder Magazine is pleased to announce the hiring of Mike Rogge to fill the position of Associate Editor. Rogge grew up skiing in the Adirondacks and cut his teeth in ski media through various outlets while basing out of Burlington, Vermont. In addition to freelance writing for various print and web outlets, Rogge was most recently the content manager for SkiTheEast.net. He also hosts a weekly radio show called The Ski Show on WBKM.org.
“Working for Powder is a dream come true,” says Rogge. “I feel honored to be working with the great staff in San Clemente and while I have some big shoes to fill, I’m ready to continue the almost 40-year tradition of bringing ‘Powder to the people.'”
Rogge will be filling the position formerly held by John Stifter. “John was a valued employee and we are sorry to see him go,” says Powder Editor Derek Taylor. “He is sure to be an integral voice for Powder and Powder.com for years to come.” Stifter resigned recently after more than three years of service in order to relocate back to his native Washington State, but will continue to contribute to the magazine as a senior correspondent.
“We’re excited to have Mike’s unique perspective and multi-media skills here at Powder,” continues Taylor. “We feel he is the right piece to round-out a talented and passionate staff.”
Rogge will be in Powder’s San Clemente office as of Monday, May 17, 2010, and can be reached via e-mail at email@example.com.
