The Chris Davenport Ultima Thule Alaska Adventure To Raise Funds
For Protect Our Winters
Pacific Palisades, CA (January 22, 2014) — Protect Our Winters, the global climate change nonprofit and Alaska’s premier wilderness lodge, Ultima Thule, just launched the Chris Davenport Ultima Thule Alaska Adventure, a sweepstakes opportunity for two to ski in Alaska’s Wrangell/St. Elias mountains guided by Chris Davenport and hosted by the Ultima Thule Lodge.
The all inclusive, four-day package includes guided ski mountaineering with Chris Davenport, two-time World Champion skier, widely regarded as one of the premier big mountain skiers in the world today. Among his many achievements, Chris was the first person to ski all 54 of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks in less than a year. He has numerous first descents of peaks around the globe under his belt, and recently guided and skied on Mt. Everest. Chris also serves on POW’s Board of Directors.
“After last year’s wildly successful sweepstakes, which sent the lucky winner to Alaska with Jeremy Jones, we were so grateful that Ultima Thule donated this unbelievable trip again. That makes this the second annual event with Chris Davenport leading the adventure this year. 100% of every contribution will be directly placed towards our efforts to protect places like the Wrangells from climate change”, said Chris Steinkamp, Executive Director at Protect Our Winters.
The Ultima Thule Lodge package includes a $500 credit for travel to Valdez, and round trip bush plane transport from Valdez to Ultima Thule. Additionally, Chris Davenport’s generous sponsors have provided an amazing prize purse which includes a GoPro Hero3 Black Edition Camera, Outerwear from Spyder’s White Collection, Touchstone Sunglasses, I/OX Goggles and Maze Helmet from Smith, Alias Pack, Compactor Poles and Legend Gloves from Black Diamond, as well as several boxes of Clif Bars in POW’s seasonal flavors.
