Copper started a Safety Class administered through the Ski Patrol and the Slope Watch teams during the 07/08 season. The primary objective of the Safety Class is to reduce the number of violations to the Colorado Skier Safety Act at Copper by communicating and enforcing a strong safety message to guests through focused education. The content of the Safety Class focuses on each person’s responsibilities related to their safety and the safety of others on the mountain, including the following topics: the Skier Safety Act, what can happen if guests cut ropes, skiing or riding in closed terrain and how to know which runs are designated as family or slow runs.
