PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT SUGAR BOWL SKI TEAM FOUNDATION
Donner Summit, CA (April 8, 2009) — Sugar Bowl Resort’s Judah Lodge will host Tahoe-area writer and local celebrity-of-note Robert “Fro” Frohlich on Saturday, April 11th for a book signing of his classic piece “Skiing with Style. Sugar Bowl: 60 Years”. The popular coffee table book, published in 1999, examines in-depth the history and heritage of Donner Summit and Sugar Bowl Resort in particular, recalling the rich history and storied past of the resort’s coming to fruition, complete with evocative writing and extensive historical photographs. The book signing will be held from 1:00pm 4:00pm in the Judah Lodge, next to the fireplace adjacent to the Judah bar. KTKE 101.5 Truckee Tahoe Radio will be on-site for live remote broadcasting and live interviews with the author. Portions of the proceeds stemming from the book sale and signing will go toward funding the Sugar Bowl Ski Team Foundation, an organization dedicated toward the development of the world’s snow sports athletes.
Robert Frohlich has been published in numerous industry magazines and publications, including Snow Country, SKI Magazine and Sierra Heritage, and is a recipient of the prestigious ULLR Award, as recognized by the International Skiing History Association. He is also a feature writer for Tahoe Quarterly Magazine and the Sacramento Bee.
