Scottsdale, AZ (January 5, 2015) — Solution54, an inventory sharing network that uses peer-to-peer transactions to help brick-and-mortar shops increase sales, will be exhibiting at the 2015 SIA trade show. Approved for use by several of the top snowboard brands including Never Summer, Jones and Flux, they are currently accepting appointments from brands and shops alike that want to learn more about the service during the show.
Designed as an online community for retailers, the Solution54 service enables separately owned shops to makes sales connections with one another, which increases sell-through. Overstocked retailers can post excess inventory to other shops and expand their customer base. Understocked retailers can “shop” with other dealers to complete the sale. With Solution54 overstocks and out-of-stocks no longer have to translate into missed sales opportunities.
“Losing a sale because I didn’t have the right product or the right buyer was the toughest part of owning a shop,” said CEO and Founder Kyle O’Dea, who spent several years running the Colorado Boarder in Crested Butte, CO. “I always felt that if shops could work together we’d make way more sales, and Solution54 was born out of trying to find way to make that work.”
And now it has. Solution54 has helped several shops make sales connections, and because these connections are between authorized retailers they can occur across state lines without violating vendor agreements or diverting product. Best of all, the community is free to join, and shops pay only when they make a sale.
The December 2014 issue of Entrepreneur Magazine suggests that peer-to-peer transactions will be one of the biggest business trends of 2015, and the success of eBay, Uber and Airbnb proves that the average consumer is just as likely to transact with their peers as they are a business. Such peer-to-peer transactions may have originated with consumers, but they can apply to businesses as well. By working together brick-and-mortar shops increase their sales opportunities without increasing overhead or jeopardizing vendor agreements.
