Donner Summit, CA (January 19, 2009) — Sugar Bowl Resort’s renowned Mountain Sports Learning Center is hosting a “Learn with the Ladies” weekend ski and snowboard retreat this January 23rd and 24th, designed for active and energetic women looking to take their ski and snowboard skills to the next level. Participants will enjoy a weekend of camaraderie with like-minded female snowsports enthusiasts, complete with morning yoga sessions, fine food created by head chef Al Davis, massage treatments at the new Summit Spa, wine tasting aprs get togethers courtesy of Selby Wines, and of course on-snow ski and snowboard instruction with Sugar Bowl’s finest female instructors. Skiers and riders should be confident in their on-mountain skills on most terrain, and sessions will be tailor-fit to target areas of improvement at a comfortable pace. The general camp agenda will include personal coaching, individual assessment, equipment assessment and recommendations, morning yoga, all-day on-mountain training, lunch, and “wine-down” aprs socials followed by massage treatments including hot stone, Swedish and deep tissue treatments at Sugar Bowl’s Summit Spa.
Learn with the Ladies’ head instructor Billie Cornell is an 11 year PSIA certified ski instructor, leading the camp into its third year of operation. “The adrenal rush and excitement generated by the ladies from their skiing and snowboarding accomplishments, together with the camaraderie of the participants and fellow instructors alike, has encouraged me to want to continue the tradition for another season,” explains Cornell, “and through the unprecedented cooperation of several departments here at Sugar Bowl, we hope to make this season’s camp dates unsurpassed.”
