Los Angeles, CA (January 22, 2009) — The big open-air ski party of Tuesday’s men’s night slalom race at Schladming is coming to 2009 SnowSports Industries of America (SIA) Trade Show in Las Vegas. Universal Sports will host a special viewing party of the men’s World Cup race from Schladming, Austria, starting 5 p.m. PT on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at the SIA show.

UNIVERSAL SPORTS VIEWING PARTY AND FLATSCREEN HDTV GIVEAWAY: Universal Sports invites SIA attendees to the viewing party at Booth X95. The drawing will be at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27. Only those attendees at the both will be eligible for the television raffle.

SCHLADMING COVERAGE ON UNIVERSAL SPORTS: Universal Sports, available in 30 million homes, will present a live broadcast on its 24-hour television network from its SIA booth X95 from 11:30 a.m. 1:30 p.m. PT. will offer a free, live webcast of both slalom runs, starting at 9:00 a.m. PT. The race will be available for on-demand viewing on skiing channel.

SCHLADMING IS ONE BIG CRAZY PARTY: The Night Race in Schladming is the most famous stop for slalom specialists, but not just for the race the after-party is just as well-known. Over 50,000 fans and celebrities flock to the Austrian ski town for the three-day celebration under the floodlights. While the Austrian fans would enjoy a win by hometown heroes Benjamin Raich (four-time champion of the Planai course), or Mario Matt (reigning champion), the atmosphere is unlike any other stop on the World Cup circuit and all racers agree: it’s crazy in Schladming.
