SIA congratulates the SIA US SnowSports Retailer of the Year Award Winners

SIA, in conjunction with the SnowPress Show Daily, the official publication of the SIA SnowSports Trade Show, is proud to recognize the winners of the 07.08 SIA US SnowSports Retailer of the Year Award.

The SIA US SnowSports Retailer of the Year Award is based upon a shop’s contribution to the growth of the snow sports industry, its promotional and marketing techniques and its success in the ski, snowboard, tele, cross country and/or snowshoe marketplace. The award winners are nominated and selected by suppliers and reps in the snow sports industry.

SIA thanks each of these shops for their commitment to the snow sports industry. The 07.08 SIA US SnowSports Retailer of the Year was announced at the SIA.08 SnowSports Trade Show.

MID-ATLANTIC

Buckman's Ski Shop | Pottstown, PA
Buckman's Ski Shops began in 1971 with our first ski shop opening in Perkiomenville, PA. Known for great customer service and quality products, they quickly became one of the area's leading ski shops.

MOUNTAIN

Aspen Skiing Company/Four Mountain Sports* | Aspen, CO
Aspen Mountain Four-Mountain Sports/ D&E Ski and Snowboard Shop has implemented many innovative marketing ideas and outstanding retail promotions.

NEW ENGLAND

Skirack, Inc. | Burlington, VT
Skirack first opened its doors in 1969 just a few blocks from its present location in downtown Burlington, Vermont.

NORTH CENTRAL

Joe's Ski Shop | St. Paul, MN
Joe Rauscher’s father, Joe, owned a sporting goods store that sold fishing and hunting goods however, the winter business was very slow. Joe’s parents tried skiing at a local ski area and fell in love with it.

PACIFIC

Porter's Sports* | Truckee, CA
Porters started selling winter equipment the same year that the Olympics came to Squaw Valley in 1960. In 1982 Porters added snowboards – making it one of the older dealers in the country as well.

SOUTH CENTRAL

St. Bernard Sports** | Dallas, TX
Anne and Wes Goyer opened St. Bernard Sports over 28 years ago and have been providing the best snowsports selection in the Southwest.

SOUTHEAST

Peter Glenn* | Atlanta, GA
Fifty years ago this year, 1958....Ned Hamilton tried to talk the local sporting goods dealer in Montpelier, VT to stock better ski clothing and equipment for the students in his ski classes at Vermont College.
