It soon will be time to bid adieu to a city and state that have been so good to SIA and its annual trade show over the past 37 years. SIA officially announced on Tuesday, October 30, that its annual SIA SnowSports Trade Show will move from the Mandalay Bay to the newly built Colorado Convention Center in Denver, effective in the year 2010. Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau President & CEO, Richard Scharf, SIA board chairman Mike Carey, and SIA president David Ingemie made a joint statement at a press conference regarding the move in front of a crowd of snow sports and Denver-based press. Governor Ritter welcomed the SIA SnowSports Trade Show to Colorado. "It's no secret that Colorado is regarded around the world as the snow sports capital of America, so it is a great natural fit for us to host the premiere snow sports industry trade show."
