Stuart Keiller, Consultant

Stu KeillerStuart Keiller is the author of SIA’s Guide to Succession in the Family Business and the accompanying workbook that form the basis for our seminar.

Stu has over thirty-seven years experience working in the snow sports industry. After graduating from Dartmouth College and receiving his MBA from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth, he served four years at sea in the United States Navy. Stu returned to New Hampshire to work at The Tuck School as a research assistant writing the case studies for the graduate level marketing textbook, “Marketing Management” by Kenneth R. Davis.

After a four-year assignment as Director of Marketing at Profile Sports Wear in West Lebanon NH, Stu joined AMF Head Sports Wear in Columbia MD in 1975 as Merchandise Manager. He was appointed President in 1979 and guided the Company through the sale from AMF to Leslie Fay. During his nine-year tenure at Head sales nearly doubled.

In 1984 Stu co-founded Kaelin Sports Wear with Stefan Kaelin. Kaelin became a well recognize premium brand in the ski and tennis apparel markets. The company was sold in 1995.

While continuing to manage the Kaelin business, Stu started his consulting firm in 1996 with a primary focus on development of proprietary data mapping programs. Stuart Keiller LLC developed SIA’s highly successful inSight mapping program currently used by over one hundred leading ski suppliers. His firm has also completed projects in the hotel, real estate, publishing and retail industries.
