In an effort to educate consumers on the benefits of regular tuning and waxing skis/snowboards, National Ski & Snowboard Retailers Association (NSSRA) and SIA have launched a turn-key direct mail postcard service for snow sports specialty retailers at: Good tuning and waxing (or lack of) can make or break a day on the hill. Properly tuned skis and snowboards perform how they were designed to — providing better performance and control. Unfortunately, not all consumers know or remember that sound advice.

With direction from SIA’s Retailer Advisory Committee, whose members represent specialty ski and snowboard shops across the country, SIA has developed a series of postcards with standard messaging and creative that can be sent directly to customers. Shops can easily download and print postcards in-house or work with Customers First to purchase printing and mailing packages.

“We are pleased to partner with SIA on this program,” said NSSRA Chairman of the Board Brad Nelson, Hi Tempo Ski & Sail, White Bear Lane, Minn. “By creating the artwork for these free, customizable postcards, SIA is demonstrating its commitment to the specialty retail channel, which we appreciate.

In the end, by offering tips on tuning, waxing and servicing their equipment, retailers can improve their customers’ experience and get them back into the shop for another visit.

“We urge specialty retailers to take advantage of this program,” Nelson continued. “By reaching out to people whose skis or boards may need tuning, shop owners have the opportunity to solidify their relationship with existing customers and demonstrate once again that specialty retailers add value to every sale.”
