I was inspired by this “solar orchard” I saw today while visiting Shelburne Farms in beautiful Shelburne, VT. The plaque is hard to see but it reads “in partnership with Green Mountain Power.” This is a working farm with cows, chickens, sheep, educational programs and a magnificent inn. They harness solar energy for their operations. For those of us that don’t have access to solar energy, there are options for reducing the energy we use on a daily basis.
