Steve Pepper, Founder and President of Pepper’s Eyewear, had quite the day at the ball park on Sunday, June 10 at the Pittsburgh Pirate’s home game against the Kansas City Royals. Steve was fortunate enough to throw the first pitch to open the game in front of 35,000 people. Not only did he throw a perfect strike but his son LeLand, who also works for Pepper’s Eyewear, had the opportunity to play catcher for dad. Steve and LeLand were not the only Pepper’s employees in attendance though. Steve brought the whole staff along with his wife and all enjoyed a catered box for the game.
While walking by the Pirate’s bench after throwing the ball, Steve got his favorite player, Andrew McCutchen’s autograph.
Growing up playing baseball, Steve absolutely loves the sport. “I cherished those three minutes on the mound very much. It was a real honor and treat,” said Pepper.
The entire Pirate’s field staff, along with kids 15 years old and younger, received Pepper’s sunglasses; a total of 12,000 pairs were given out. What a day for Steve Pepper and crew!
