Jeannie Thoren to be Inducted into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame
Jeannie ThorenJeannie Thoren has been called “the Johnny Appleseed of skiing.”

When she started to ski there was no women’s specific equipment in the sport. She began to customize her own equipment and saw a direct connection between her gear and the improvement in her technique. She would make it her lifelong mission to help other women by making their equipment better. Eventually, in 1981 she held her first women’s gear clinic, at Buck Hill in Minnesota. This inspired her setting up regular clinics, up to 70 per season, around the country, from 1988 to 2006 when she travelled with a trailer of gear in tow. Her “Thoren Theory Women’s Ski Equipment Seminars” helped thousands of women throughout North America to improve their skiing.

In Memoriam

Craig Zelinske, President of Z Search Group, Executive Recruiter In The Active Apparel, Sporting Goods Footwear And Outdoor Markets
Craig ZelinskeCraig Zelinske, President of Z Search Group, passed away February 20, 2015. He was 62 years old. Craig was an executive recruiter with twelve years of dedicated search experience in the active apparel, sporting goods footwear and outdoor markets. He was a talented, mechanical recruiter. This came after 20+ years as a tenacious sales and business unit executive in the industry. He enjoyed success with Action & Leisure/Uhlsport in NYC, First Team Sports/Ultra Wheels in MN, Salomon/Adidas NA in OR and Bauer/Nike Hockey in NH.

Craig was one of the founding members of the International In-line Skate Association (IISA) sitting as its Chairman of the Board for six years. While with the IISA he led the “Gear Up” safety program. With this program the International In-Line Skating Association (IISA) was the first industry association to receive the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Chairman’s Commendation for promoting proper equipment and safety practices for the sport of in-line skating.

Craig was an outdoor enthusiast: accomplished at Alpine and Nordic skiing, hiking, bicycling and in-line skating. He traveled the world. He was a film, literature and jazz devotee and at the end of the day enjoyed nothing more than good food and wine shared with the people he loved. We will deeply miss this passionate adventurer.

Craig is survived by his wife Georganne, son Jason Wells, daughter-in-law Sandra Rossi and granddaughter Lucia.
