Winter Trails Day is January 11, 2014! Winter Trails Day offers children and adults new to snow sports the chance to try snowshoeing and cross country skiing for free. This year, more than 12,000 snow sports newcomers are expected to participate in Winter Trails events at nearly 100 venues across North America. Whether you are a Winter Trails event organizer or a local snow sports retailer, there are a number of ways you can get involved.
“Winter Trails is a great opportunity to help hook participants on the joys of cross country skiing and snowshoeing, and also provide them a gateway to additional winter sports,” said Reese Brown, director of the Winter Trails program. “Snowshoeing and cross country skiing are excellent aerobic activities. They are fun to learn and appeal to the entire family.”
Opportunities abound for retailers and suppliers to get involved. First, find a Winter Trails event and the local organizer near you by checking the Events tab on Snowlink.com. Some ideas to help promote Winter Trails and your business include:
- Suppliers and retailers can promote the event on their website and to their customer database. Retailers can promote the event in store.
- Suppliers can set up demo tents, and retailers can provide staff at the event to help sales reps with the demos and clinics.
- Retailers can have a booth at the event. Do small giveaways and offer discount coupons for your store. Suppliers and retailers can team up to provide a discount as well. Collect names and build your database. Serve hot chocolate!
