2017 Snow Show Recap

March 7, 2017 | 0 Comments

With the first week of March upon us, we know you’re with us thinking about some spring turns (and maybe even summer turns)! Corn, anyone? With snow on the mind as the Northwest gets pummeled with yet another record-breaking month of snowfall, and the Northeast revels in its post February snowstorm bliss, we wanted to share a few highlights from this year’s SIA Snow Show.

The 2017 Snow Show featured a revitalized feel, with free-flowing beer throughout the day, complimentary happy hours, open conversation encouraged, and new exhibits welcoming attendees to meet new brands, buyers and exhibitors alike.

In total, nearly 18,000 retailers, suppliers, representatives and industry players came together for the world’s largest gathering of winter sports business. Among the attendees were Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and Luis Benitez, Colorado’s Director for the Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry, who shared a keynote with SIA President Nick Sargent. The three spoke about the stewardship role that Colorado takes building an infrastructure heavily incorporateing the outdoor industry, while also announcing SIA’s 10-year contract extension with VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors Bureau to host the Snow Show in Colorado through 2030.

In addition to a new look and feel of the Show, SIA launched the livestreaming of educational seminars, making this important intel and data available anytime! The 2017 SIA Snow Show Industry + Intelligence seminars can be accessed year-round as an educational resource. Downloading the content is easy! Head to the SIA Snow Show website, click on recorded sessions, and select a video from SIA’s library of content.

As attendees step out of this year’s Show and back into shops, offices, and hopefully the ‘white room’, our industry moves forward on a positive note with SIA encouraging conversations to find solutions to our industry’s most pressing issues. We are already planning for 2018 and urge you to provide feedback on this year’s Show and offer any suggestions or anything you’d like to see at the next SIA Snow Show with our Show survey.

Be sure to save the date for the 2018 Snow Show slated for Jan. 25-28, 2018, with Industry + Intelligence Day taking place on Jan. 24, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado. Following the Snow Show will be the On-Snow Demo/Ski-Ride Fest hosted by Colorado’s Copper Mountain Resort from Jan. 29-30, 2018.
