Over 26,000 Ski and Snowboard Enthusiasts Reveled at Fenway Park in Boston for Big Air Event

February 16, 2016 | 0 Comments

When the last pitch is thrown in October and the hot dog stands shut down until April, what is there to do at a baseball stadium? Well, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Fenway Sports Management (FSM) have the answer: invite the top ski/snowboard athletes in the world to compete under the Fenway lights.

There’s no denying the Polartec Big Air event was at true success; the attendance, the hype, the 140-foot tall jump taller than the Green “Monstah,” and the overall celebration of skiing and snowboarding in a historical and vibrant city. With Fenway as a tour venue, it widens the audience for skiing/snowboarding – hopefully encouraging those watching to maybe try it for the first time (or revisit it).

Hopefully you had a chance to get a glimpse of the event on Thursday or Friday evening where the event played out live on NBC Sports Network or Saturday on NBC. Nonetheless, we have some great recaps below with results, video coverage, photos and much more.
